5 Bouquets for $15

One of the many reasons Trader Joes is top on my list of grocery stores is the flowers.  My mom always has fresh flowers in the house and I try to do the same.  I buy a $10 bouquet and a $5 bouquet and design colorful and long lasting arrangements.

Pretty simple and simply pretty!

What I loved the most: My growing hobnail vase collection and the yellow daisies.

The Dirty 30: v.2

All I really wanted for my 30th was to rejuvenate.  Appropriate, right? Jim planned a perfect weekend at Bedford Springs Spa Resort in Bedford Pennsylvania. We spent the weekend relaxing, getting massages, facials, ordering room service, antiqueing, getting mani's and pedi's and soaking in eternal springs.  It was rough. Its not often you get to totally remove yourself from the daily grind and do just, be. It was the perfect birthday with my best friend.

What I loved the most: other than the extreme indulgence of doing nothing but pamper myself for 3 days... the beautiful vintage/modern interior of the resort.  to. die. for.

The Dirty 30: v.1

It happened.  I turned 30 last week!  My friend Scott at work made a point to let me know that I was actually already in my 31st year. The girl that did my toes told me I still looked really good for being 30- thanks, girl. My sister assured me that 30 was the new 21, which actually sounds exhausting and not fun at all... I must really be 30.  People have a lot to say about turning 30.

I started my new decade with some sushi and dancing with my besties back in Michigan.

What birthday would be complete without a pink Rockstar & Snickers toast in the back of a car?

What I loved the most: Every single one of these girls.

Crepes, Viva Glam & Faux Specs

Today was a day without a plan.  I like those the best.  I got my new camera yesterday so Jim and I took it for a spin around town.  I posted some of the best pics pics below.

First we visited Allegheny Cemetery.  I have a romanticized and spooky love for cemeteries but this one is just so beautiful.  It was the first place I wanted to take my new camera.

Next we stopped by Wildcard on Butler Street in Lawrenceville.  The shop is full of colorful handmade novelties; cards, hand bound books, printed paper, jewelry & housewares.  I would love if a few more of these shops would neighbor Wild Card.  The windows and cool floor were my fave!

After an unsuccessful trip to Tessaro's for a sandwich (they're apparently closed on Sunday's) we headed over to our favorite French spot for a delicious brunch.  I'm sure Jim will do a full review on Yelp but I can tell you it was yummy.  The crepes were tasty and reminded of my fave crepe spot in Chicago, Iguana Cafe.  My favorite things about Paris 66 is the French greeting when you walk in and on your way out, the pastry case and the collage board of Parisian trips that hangs in the entry way.

We headed home and had a mini photo shoot in the living room.  I broke out the faux glasses, Jims favorite (and prettiest) book and the newest Viva Glam lipstick.

Jim certainly did Ricky and Nicki proud in Macs newest Viva Glam shade.

What I loved the most: Putting lipstick on my man!

The Love List 2.5-2.11

1. Doing the dishes is much more fun with this dish cloth...I actually did them today.
2. I'm seeing these rhinestone babies pop up at little gift stores all over.  I grabbed this green one!
3. It took a few good searches to find out exaclty what these babies are called.  They are currently in transit to me.  Stay tuned for a DIY project ala African Snake Vertebrae Trade beads.
4. There's a new skin care line in my mix, its called Fix.  I scored Immaculate Complexion in my last Birch Box.  F.A.C.E.S.M.O.O.T.H.L.I.K.E.B.A.B.Y.B.O.O.T.Y.
5. JCrew sells this amazing polish but the rest of their line is to die for and only available online.  Its free of 3 really bad things things that are in most nailpolish. More importantly, they make killer shades and it lasts forever.
6. Jim and I are trying to find a good alternative to 48 cans of Diet Coke a week.  For now, a fridge sticked with cucumber water is working. So refreshing!
7. Quinoa.  We may be a little late to hop on this train but I'm glad we're on it.  Hello instant protein sans the red meat.
8. I purchased a few of the lavender Art of Shaving products for Jim this Christmas.  Lucky for me he treated himself to the full line...I look forward to kissing his cheeks even more.
9. I never thought a cleaning product would be on my Love List.  This stuff smells like perfume, isn't full of toxins and cleans pretty damn good (especially when i use my cute new dish cloth).

Tamari = Too Yummy

We headed out for dinner and drinks (lots of drinks) with Erin and Barrett Friday night.  After indulging in beautiful and delicious food at Tamari in Lawrenceville we stumbled on over to Static nightclub in The Strip district.

Tamari: Tasty Latin-Asian cuisine. Good atmosphere and a seemingly high concentration of attractive people for Pittsburgh.  I've been here twice and both times the server has brought out treats from the chef. This time we were surprised with a pre dinner salad and after dinner no bake cookies.  The rolls here are amazing, there are no tv's with football ruining your meal and the service is great.  My only suggestion would be for them to play some music and stay open a little later- we were there til 10:30 and closed the place down. Check out Jims review on yelp!

Static Nightclub:  Not a huge fan of going to The Strip District after dark but I am a huge fan of the music they play at Static.  This is the only place I've found in Pittsburgh that plays house music and has a living breathing DJ putting some thought into what he plays, contrary to the drunk girl with an ipod you experience at most Pittsburgh "nightclubs".  Our little group managed to dance and drink enough shots of SoCo and Lime for everyone.

What I loved the most: hearing good music and dancing
